HELL'S KITCHEN — The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater paid tribute to the Oscar-nominated flick "Moonlight" with a new dance piece set to the film's score.

"Moonlight x Alvin Ailey," an approximately two-minute short dance film released online last week, features a trio of dancers from the theater and school on West 55th Street performing to music from the critically-acclaimed movie.

The dance was choreographed by Alvin Ailey's artistic director Robert Battle, who hails from the Miami neighborhood where "Moonlight" was set, according to a post on the theater's Facebook page.

Nicholas Britell, who composed the film’s soundtrack, is up for an Oscar for Best Original Score.
