MANHATTAN — A lawyer for disgraced ex-NBA star Jayson Williams said Tuesday that there is no "good offer" on the table for the former New Jersey Net facing a drunk driving charge in Manhattan.
While his attorney, Oscar Holt, told DNAinfo that Williams is considering all options, including a plea, prosecutors have offered no breaks, the lawyer said.
According to Holt, they're offering what the maximum sentence would be anyway — one year added to the 5-year prison sentence Williams is currently serving for attempting to cover up the accidental shooting death of his limo driver.
The drunk-driving charge stemmed from an accident in January when an allegedly inebriated Williams crashed his Mercedes Benz SUV into a tree near the corner of Avenue C and East 18th Street.
Holt said he doesn't know "what's going to happen" with the DWI charge, only that they'll appear in court on Friday.
"Of course we'll talk plea [and] we'll talk trial," he said.
