MANHATTAN — Brooklyn hipsters will soon be able to wear their vintage peacoats and anchor tattoos in earnest, as the city issued a request for proposals Monday for a Williamsburg ferry landing, according to the NY Post.

The proposals are part of a pilot program that will begin next spring and will expand East River water taxi service to the Northside of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Brooklyn, reported the Post.

Officials are also looking into expanding service to 20th, 75th, 90th and 125th streets along the East River in Manhattan and to Astoria, Queens, and LaGuardia Airport, according to the city's RFP.

The project will be funded by $1.1 million in city funds and $4.4 million in federal transportation money.
