MANHATTAN — Lawrence Taylor had three words to one reporter who asked him if he had any comment after pleading not guilty to charges of having sex with a 16-year-old girl: “No. Grow up.”

The former Giant great also turned to another reporter and asked if he was there to cover his trial, the New York Post reported. When the reported replied “yes,” Taylor said, “It must be a slow news day.”

He also chatted with friends, asking one “You’re not playing golf today, are you?” according to the Post and upon seeing prosecutors with a cartload of files quipped “I hope that’s not all for me. I wasn’t even in town for that long.”

Taylor, who led the Giants to two Super Bowl victories, is accused of paying an underage girl $300 to have sex with him in a hotel room. He claimed he never had intercourse with the victim, who charged that her alleged pimp forced her to lie to Taylor about her age and physically abused her.

Taylor’s business manager Mark Lepselter said the seriousness of the charges was weighing on the former star.

“He has been subdued for the past few months,” he told the Post. “Mentally, he is trying to get through it every day.

“I’m worried about him.”
