MANHATTAN — Disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer will host a prime-time program on CNN, the network revealed on Wednesday.
Spitzer, who resigned after being embroiled in a high-end prostitution scandal, will co-host a show weeknights at 8 with Pulitzer Prize-winning conservative Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker as his co-host.
The show has not been named yet. It will replace a show hosted by Campbell Brown.
CNN was confident the new show would attract viewers.
"Other cable news channels force-feed viewers one narrow, predictable point of view; in contrast, CNN will be offering a lively roundup of all the best ideas — presented by two of the most intelligent and outspoken figures in the country," CNN President Jon Klein said in a statement.
"I am grateful to CNN for the opportunity to co-host a show that will advance the discussion of the defining issues of our time,” Spitzer said in a statement. “I look forward to working alongside [Kathleen] in a discussion that will inform, challenge, and entertain."
