MANHATTAN — As the Yankees’ bats finally began to heat up, their cross-town rivals seem to have gone cold.

Mark Teixeira knocked home a grand slam in the fourth inning — his second homer in two games — to give the Yankees a 4-0 win over the Mets on Sunday in the final game of the Subway Series.

Pitcher CC Sabathia (8-3) pitched eight scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 3.68 and earn his eighth win of the season.

With a loss from Tampa Bay, the Yankees are now alone on top of the AL East.

The Mets left 12 runners on base for the game on their way to a second loss in as many days — a far cry from the eight-game winning streak the club was on coming into the weekend.

“That team is as hot as any team in baseball and to come up against (Mike) Pelfrey and Santana, both guys pitching as well as anybody, it’s good to win two out of three,” Alex Rodriguez told the Associated Press.

For the Yankees, it was the first time in the three-game series against the Mets that they’ve had all of their starters healthy and in the lineup. Derek Jeter returned after sitting out Saturday’s game and Rodriguez was back on third base, after being relegated to designated hitter duty due to injuries on Saturday.

Mets’ pitcher Johan Santana (5-4) settled down after the Teixeira grand slam, scattering eight hits in six innings.
