MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A Brooklyn man was found guilty Friday of stealing from actress Kirsten Dunst in his second trial for a burglary at the SoHo Grand three years ago.

James Jimenez, 36, was convicted of swiping a Balenciaga handbag, $2,000 cash, a Marc Jacobs wallet, vintage sunglasses, an iPod and other items from Dunst and co-star Simon Pegg's penthouse suite, while they were filming the movie, "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People." Jimenez faces up to 15 years in prison.

Both celebirites appeared in court this week to testify about their missing items for the second time.

Dunst and Pegg also took the stand when Jimenez was tried in September. The case resulted in a mistrial.

"It kind of doesn't make sense but it's the jury's verdict," defense lawyer Robert Parker said Friday about the latest decision.

Parker, who called his client a "mongoloid" in court in closing arguments, said Jimenez was only tagging along with his friend Jarrod Beinerman, a convicted drug dealer who pleaded guilty to the burglary.

In the hallway after the verdict, a juror told reporters that it was clear that Jimenez intended to rob the actors when he entered their suite.

"They're in there for a minute, they come out with a bag full of goodies," said the 28-year-old software developer from Midtown, who did not want to give his name.

The juror said he was impressed by Pegg's eloquence on the stand and thought Dunst was credible.

He said he had heard of the movie they were filming but has never seen it.

"I plan on renting it this week," the juror added.
