MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A male nanny accused of sexually abusing a 5-year-old Morningside Heights boy also had "several hundred" explicit child pornography videos on his computer, prosecutors said Thursday.
After Richard Figueroa, 23, was arrested for allegedly forcing oral sex on a small child in his care, authorities retrieved his computer from his East Harlem apartment and recovered disturbing files he allegedly tried to delete.
"Images of young children — some very young children under 10 years old — and they're engaging with other young children in what is clearly and unmistakably sexual activity," described Assistant District Attorney Emily Ching.
Figueroa was indicted on several possession of child pornography charges but may face more serious sanctions if federal prosecutors pick up the case.
He currently faces up to four years in prison if convicted. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
