Downtown Docket: Duvet Bouncer Free Despite Rape and Robbery Charges

A Chelsea bouncer charged with two felonies within the past two weeks, including rape, is free on $50,000 bail. The rap sheet of the guard, who worked at Club Duvet, includes a gun possession conviction about 10 years ago. [DNAinfo]

The Manhattan District Attorney's office will oppose a work release application for former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, who is serving a two year sentence on gun possession charges. [nydailynews.com]

Two Long Island brothers are suing their sister in Manhattan Supreme Court to have their father's remains exhumed. The brothers said their mother was abused and did not want to spend eternity alongside their father. [nypost.com]

Biurny Peguero Gonzalez, 27, pleaded guilty yesterday to lying about a rape that never occurred and led to the 2006 conviction of William McCaffrey. McCaffrey was released but served four years of a 20 year prison sentence. [nytimes.com]
