CHICAGO — Shots were fired at officers early Thursday, the sixth time in recent days that's happened to police.
At 2 a.m., officers were in the 800 block of South Miller Street, responding to a call of a person with a gun, when someone fired shots at them, police said.
No one was injured, police said, but a person was detained and a gun was found.
No further information was immediately available.
On Nov. 25, officers were shot at in Garfield Park, police said. On Nov. 27, police said they shot and killed a man after he fired a shot at them and shot a woman. The next day, two men fired shots at officers during an illegal gun sale, police said.
On Dec. 1, a commander was shot at, leading to a standoff between the alleged shooters and a SWAT team.
Officers were shot at again on Tuesday night, police said.
