Brian McGinn

Manager of IT and Network Services Contact

Brian McGinn is the video and IT analyst for DNAinfo.com.

Prior to joining the team, he was at 66.36 Productions, where he worked on 3D animation, video editing, audio production and IT consulting. He's also been a Mac Genius and Creative Genius at Apple for four years, and directed and edited MTV music videos, worked on fashion release videos, and designed illustrations for several publications in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Brian's love of technology and computers was sparked in the fifth grade when he was on a team that won the Ciba-Gigie Award for a forward wing shape. Since then Brian has been fascinated by taken things apart, figuring out how they worked, and improving them.
In his spare time, Brian plays guitar and piano with his band, S7, Dj-ing or BBQ-ing. An avid cook, Brian worked all through art school as sous-chef for Feast Careers.

On the weekends, Brian can be found camping and enjoying the outdoors. He's an Eagle Scout with Order of the Arrow recognition and a survivalist.

Fun Fact: Brian's dream is to open his own restaurant and enter the BBQ competitive circuit. His key to great BBQ is not just smoking or grilling meat, but using three different cooking methods, ice cold beer and great company.
