MANHATTAN — Stephanie Madoff, daughter-in-law of the famed ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff, filed court papers to change her and her children’s last names, several outlets reported Thursday.

In court filings, the second wife of the convicted swindler's son Mark, said she wanted to avoid “embarrassment, harassment and endangerment associated with the name,” and to change it to Morgan, the New York Post reported.

The court papers said Mark did not object to the name change, the Post said.

Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison after pleading guilty to defrauding investors in one of the biggest ponzi schemes in history.
