The New Year's Eve ball will go dark for the first time this Saturday, as part of the annual event.
Ring in 2014 with the revelers in Manhattan and bid farewell to 2013, right from home.
The display will light up with multicolored floodlights at midnight on New Year's Eve.
Good luck charms were gathered to welcome the number 13, part of 2013, to Times Square.
Partygoers started arriving 24 hours before the ball was set to drop.
The New Year's Eve ball made a few test runs in Times Square Friday.
