STATEN ISLAND — An annual free series of concerts will bring a chart-topping doo-wop band, a blues group and more to Staten Island's parks this summer.

Borough President James Oddo announced the lineup for his annual Summer Sunset Concert Series, which will bring more than a dozen artists to parks around the borough.

The series — held in partnership with Councilmembers Debi Rose, Steven Matteo and Joe Borelli — will kick off June 29 at Fort Wadsworth with a performance by Charlie Romo and the Barry Levitt Trio and run Thursday nights through August 24, according to Oddo.

"We at Borough Hall are once again going to provide some really good music for Staten Islanders in our summer concert series, music of various types," Oddo said in an announcement of the series with Q104.3 DJ Ken Dashow.

As part of the summer series, doo-wop group Vito Picone and the Elegants — who had a hit in 1958 with their song "Little Star" — will headline a special "Stars of the Boardwalk" show on August 19 at the Midland Beach Splaza.

Oddo also announced he would partner with the Bini Foundation again to bring the annual "Back to the Beach" event with music, fireworks, vendors and more on July 22 and July 23.

All shows are set to start at 7 p.m.
