'Hook Me Up' Heroin and Gun Found During Bust on President Street

CROWN HEIGHTS — Police acting on a search warrant arrested a 30-year-old man after officers found a loaded gun, ammunition and drugs in his President Street apartment building, police said.

Officers found a loaded and defaced .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, a box of .38 caliber ammunition, heroin stamped with the phrase “Hook Me Up,” oxycodone pills and crack cocaine in the apartment of 30-year-old at President Street and Franklin Avenue on April 14.

Lipford was arrested and charged with narcotics possession and criminal possession of a defaced weapon, court records show, and was released on $12,000 bail.

Other notable crimes in this week’s blotter from the 71st Precinct in Crown Heights, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and East Flatbush include:​​​​

► Police are investigating a shooting on the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Hawthorne Street at approximately 4:55 p.m. on April 12. Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired on the corner and recovered five bullet fragments in front of 292 Hawthorne St. No one was injured in the shootings and no arrests have been made.

► A 21-year-old man was arrested for breaking into a 35-year-old man’s Volkswagen Jetta outside of 1710 Carroll St. The man broke the car’s passenger side window at 11:20 a.m. on April 13 and stole unspecified property from inside the vehicle. The 21-year-old, who was unknown to the victim, was arrested April 14 and charged with criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and possession of burglary tools, all misdemeanors, court records show.

► A 41-year-old man was arrested April 14 for breaking into a work van and stealing building tools worth more than $1,400. Edward Ramos, 41, is charged with breaking into the van parked in the rear on 442 Sterling St. at approximately 9:30 a.m. on April 10 and taking a screw gun, drill, grinder, drill bits and saws. He is charged with grand larceny, burglary and criminal trespass among other charges, court records show.

► A 16-year-old boy was attacked and robbed for his Jordan sneakers and Beats headphones by a teenage suspect. The assault happened in front of 57 Lincoln Rd. at 10:25 p.m. on April 14 when the unknown suspect threw the 16-year-old on the ground, punched him in the face and told him “give me your sh-- or I’ll poke you.” The suspect then forcibly removed his sneakers and headphones and fled on foot.
