ELMHURST — A pair of armed robbers held up a cellphone store on Queens Boulevard, taking off with hundreds of dollars in merchandise and later shooting at a store employee who tried to chase them, police said.

The two men entered the T-Mobile store at 86-16 Queens Blvd. Saturday at around 5:35 p.m., flashed a gun and ordered everyone inside to move to the back of the store, the NYPD said.

They then grabbed $600 of store property and fled.

An employee ran out after the pair, but one of them fired his gun in the man's direction, police said. No one was injured. 

The first suspect was described as standing approximately 5-foot-10 with a "Caesar"-style haircut, police said. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black face mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and tan gloves.

The second suspect was described as standing approximately 6-foot-2 and weighing 250 pounds, with dreadlocks, police said. He was was last seen wearing a brown coat, blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and tan shoes. He covered his face with a tan shirt during the robbery.
