CRIME BLOTTER: 81-Year-Old Robbed of $270 on Empire Boulevard

CROWN HEIGHTS — An 81-year-old woman walking down Empire Boulevard was robbed of $270 in cash by an unknown suspect who stole the money out of her pocket, police said.

The woman was walking at the corner of Empire Boulevard and Bedford Avenue at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 when the suspect came up to her, pulled the cash out of her coat pocket and fled in a black sedan.

The elderly woman told police the suspect was wearing the uniform of a home health aide or nurse at the time of the robbery. The woman was uninjured in the theft.

► A woman reported to police she heard gunshots on the roof of her building at 5:21 a.m. on Oct. 21. Police investigated the incident at 972 Eastern Parkway and found multiple bullets from a 9MM handgun. No one was injured in the shooting.

► A 25-year-old woman was arrested for hitting a 27-year-old woman in the face with a cooking utensil at a Utica Avenue restaurant. The assault happened at 3:20 a.m. on Oct. 22 at 324 Utica Ave. It’s unclear if the women were workers or customers are the eatery.

► A 45-year-old Chinese food delivery man was assaulted and robbed while delivering an order to 474 Brooklyn Ave. The man went to the building at 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 22 and was hit in the face by an unknown suspect. The assailant then took a $70 order of food from the man, then fled on foot.

► A 23-year-old man was arrested for throwing a bicycle at a 36-year-old man, then breaking his glasses and threatening him with a knife, after the two got into an argument. The fight took place around 4:00 a.m. at Kingston and East New York avenues.

► Two men and a woman were arrested at the Ebbets Field apartment complex for possession of 80 fraudulent credit cards, crack cocaine and marijuana after police executed a search warrant at the building on Oct. 25. All three, ages 28, 30 and 31, have been charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, court records show.
