9 Sneakers That Are Too Cool To Go Running In

NEW YORK CITY — Even if you're not a "sneakerhead," an elaborate pair of sneakers is a great casual shoe to walk you from summer to fall.    

Here are nine sneakers for men and women that you won't want to hide away in your gym bag:

► Nike Women's Roshe One Cherry "Blossom" from Extra Butter on the Lower East Side

Price: $85

Be reminded of spring as the weather turns to fall with Nike's "Cherry Blossom" sneaker. The Roshe line of shoes is equipped with the Phylon outsole, which is meant to add traction.

► Yeezy Boost 350 in "Oxford Tan" from Flight Club in NoHo

Price: Starts at $1,250

Why are these sneakers $1,250? Rapper Kanye West had a hand in designing them. YEEZY is the clothing and shoe collaboration between Adidas and West. Sneakerheads have been known to sleep outside stores ahead of Yeezy releases.

Price: $160

KITH is a lifestyle store stocking clothing, accessories and footwear that carries these Nikes. They have a full-leather and white upper and mimic the profile of the original Air Max 1 from 1987.

► Nike Roshe One for Men from Footlocker at Various Locations

Price: $74.99

The Roshe One from Nike doesn't just come in a floral design. There are dozens of color combinations including this slick pair in all black.

► Adidas Los Angeles for Women from Michael K in TriBeCa, Williamsburg and SoHo

Price: $90

Adidas is another shoe company pulling inspiration from its archives. The LA Trainer, with its prominent three strips on either side, inspired this modern version.

► Puma x Trapstar Disc Blaze Sneakers "White Noise" from Rime in Cobble Hill and Upper East Side

Price: $170

These sneakers have a design inspired by that static black and white dots of an old TV. The shoes are part of  a collaboration between German sportswear company Puma and Trapstar, a British streetwear label.

Finish Line is a sneaker store located inside Macy's in Downtown Brooklyn. Pony is a New York City brand founded in 1972 and their sneakers are designed with an all-leather upper for traversing gritty streets.
