BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Celebrate 40 years of Häagen-Dazs ice cream with a free scoop and other treats this Saturday at the popular brand's Brooklyn Heights flagship.

The shop, opened by Häagen-Dazs founder Reuben Mattus’ daughter Doris in 1976, will be celebrating four decades at 120 Montague St. in conjunction with its reopening after closing for more than a month of renovations in April.

Each customer that drops in between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will get a free scoop of ice cream and a $1 coupon good for a future frozen treat.

Staff members will be handing out $10, $15 and $25 gift cards, and one lucky customer will get a gift card for a year’s worth of ice cream, valued at $480.

The festivities will also include photo ops with Häagen-Dazs mascot Coneman and an official ribbon-cutting by Borough President Eric Adams at 10:45 a.m.

"Celebrating the grand reopening of the original Häagen-Dazs shop here in Brooklyn is another exciting milestone in the history of the brand," Adam Hanson, the company’s president and general manager, said in a statement.

"Häagen-Dazs was first crafted in the Bronx and has deep roots throughout all five boroughs. This is our home and we're thrilled to share our extraordinary ice cream with the community."

Some thieves have gone to great lengths to get their hands on the velvety treats.

The brand has been the target of bodega and grocery store thefts across the city since late last year, with shoplifters selling the stolen goods to smaller stores on the cheap, police said.
