LONGWOOD — A man was slashed in the face in the South Bronx early on Saturday morning after having a brief conversation with the suspect, police said.

The attack happened around 3:30 a.m. at 941 Hoe Ave., where the 23-year-old victim was walking with a woman when the suspect starting talking to them, according to the NYPD.

The victim asked the suspect what he said, and the suspect then cut him in the face with an unknown object before fleeing, police said.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was treated and released, according to police.

Officers described the suspect as a man in his early 20s who stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.
