Inside Bed-Stuy Heritage Tour

Where: Meeting location provided upon ticket purchase
When: Saturday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Learn about the rich history of arts and culture in Bedford-Stuyvesant in this five-hour neighborhood tour. Locations include Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration, the Akwaaba Mansion, Von King Park and neighborhood eateries like Al’s Roti Shop and Joloff Restaurant. Most of the tour is spent on a bus or van, but be prepared to walk around to take in some of the sights. Tickets are $40.

Friday, Feb. 5

IFFY POP at Robert Bar

Where: 104 Bond St., Boerum Hill
When: 9 p.m.

Cocktail bar Robert is getting set for a night of soul, R&B, rockabilly, cha-cha and more during what they’re calling an evening of “popcorn music” with Mr. Fine Music and One Mint Julep.

Saturday, Feb. 6

► “Inside Out” with the Sunset Park Cinema Club for Kids

Where: Industry City, 241 37th St., Sunset Park
When: Doors open at 10 a.m.; activities at 10:45 a.m.; screening at 11:45 a.m.

Industry City and Rooftop Films are teaming up for a kid-friendly morning of workshops and activities, followed by a screening of Pixar’s “Inside Out.” Sunset Spark will teach an interactive science class before the movie is played, with kids making their own “Glowing Memory Ball.” The club will convene on Saturdays for the next two months: Feb. 20, Feb. 27, March 5 and March 26.

Children’s Book Fest

Where: Park Slope Public Library, 431 Sixth Ave. near Ninth Street, Park Slope
When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

See performances by kid-friendly bands, bring gently used children’s books (ages 0 to 8) to donate, and get a library card while you’re there. The line-up includes a musical story time with Suzi Shelton and a presentation on some of the planet’s oddest animals by Michael Hearst, author of “Unusual Creatures.” The day will also feature comedian Katie Goodman and author Soren Kisiel, who created the video “Sh-t Park Slope Parents Say,” reading from their new children's book, “The Night Our Parents Went Out.”

► Prospect Heights Affordable Housing Forum

Where: P.S. 9, 80 Underhill Ave., Prospect Heights
When: 1 to 4 p.m.

Spend your Saturday learning how to find affordable housing and how to apply for a subsidized apartment through the city's lottery system at this Prospect Heights-specific event, lead by local housing experts and co-hosted by the P.S. 9 PTO, State Sen. Jesse Hamilton and the Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council.

Bed-Stuy/Crown Heights All Star Reunion

Where: Weeksville Heritage Center, 158 Buffalo Ave., Crown Heights
When: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Celebrate the central Brooklyn community with this award ceremony honoring local residents who have contributed to the betterment of the area. This year’s honorees include Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater alumna Dwana Smallwood and Chinita Pointer, founder of the Noel Pointer Foundation. The free event features food and music, along with various performances. The Science and Art of Winter Tree Pruning

Where: 334 Furman St., Brooklyn Heights
When: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

It’s tree-pruning season and Brooklyn Bridge Park’s horticulture supervisor is here to show you how to do it. Rashid Poulson will show you the basics of tree anatomy and pruning techniques in this tour through the park.

Opening of Red Envelope Show

Where: Grumpy Bert, 82 Bond St., Boerum Hill
When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Over 50 artists have turned red envelopes into everything from traditional Chinese imagery to Star Wars’ C3P0 in celebration of Lunar New Year and the Year of the Monkey. Each artist has painted or drawn on an envelope, and also placed a secret gift inside each envelope for the artwork’s future owner. Red Envelope Show will be on display from Feb. 6 to Feb. 28. The opening reception will be held Feb. 6.

Art Gallery and Live Painting at Akichi Flea Market    

Where: 1181 Fulton St., Bed-Stuy
When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Fulton Street vintage market near Spencer Place hosts its first art event with live painting, galleries and vendors. The market opens at 3 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $5.

In Concert with Noura Mint Seymali and 75 Dollar Bill

Where: Pioneer Works, 159 Pioneer St., Red Hook
When: 7 p.m.

Mauritanian musical prodigy Noura Mint Seymali will perform Saturday night with percussionist Rick Brown and guitarist Che Chen of 75 Dollar Bill. Tickets are priced at $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the show.

Mardi Gras with the JT Wildman Jazz Band

Where: Superfine, 126 Front Street, DUMBO
When: 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Start Fat Tuesday early with a night of jazz at DUMBO farm-to-table restaurant and performance space Superfine. The JT Wildman Jazz Band will perform with Phyllis Pastore at this no-cover event.

Sunday, Feb. 7

Bushwick Vendors Love Market

Where: The Silent Barn, 603 Bushwick Ave., Bushwick
When: 2 to 6 p.m.

Local vendors, including some area teenagers, will peddle clothes, toys and vintage items at this special pre-Valentine's Day event. There will be live music and snacks.

The Puppy Bowl at The Saint Catherine

Where: The Saint Catherine, 660 Washington Ave., Prospect Heights
When: 3 to 5 p.m.

Screw the big game. This Sunday is definitely time to watch puppies play fake football on a big screen in The Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Prospect Heights bar The Saint Catherine will screen the adorable program, timed coincidentally right in the middle of their happy hour.
