TRIBECA — Two women stole $617,000 in jewelry from Knicks player Derrick Williams' TriBeCa apartment after a night of partying, according to police and reports.
Police said two women took a jewelry case that contained $617,000 worth of watches, pendants, rings and other baubles, some time between midnight and 6 a.m. on Saturday.
According to the New York Post, Williams, 24, met the women Friday night while he was out celebrating the team's victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at the Up & Down club.
The party kept going at Williams' Broadway apartment, with some friends and the women, who surreptitiously swiped the bling before leaving.
Williams didn't realize the jewelry was missing until about 2 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Williams declined to talk about the theft Saturday, the Post reported.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Williams told the Post after the Knicks’ game at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. “It’s still up in the air.”
Police did not offer a description of the women and said that the investigation was ongoing.
Williams, who signed a two-year, $8.8 million contract with the Knicks this season, apparently has a penchant for watches and other pricey adornments, regularly posting on his Instagram about his sparkly new goods.
