UPPER WEST SIDE — A knife-wielding purse snatcher with a flashy manicure who targeted women along Riverside Drive earlier this year has struck again, police said.
The suspect — who had green-painted nails covered in diamonds — approached a 33-year-old woman walking by 230 W. 105th St., near Broadway, on Nov. 29 at 1:45 a.m., showed a knife and demanded her purse, the NYPD said.
The victim did not hand over the purse and instead ran from the suspect, who also fled, police said. There were no injuries.
Police believe the suspect is the same woman who targeted women near Riverside Park in January and February.
On Jan. 18, she stole a 72-year-old woman's purse at knifepoint while the victim was walking near Riverside Drive and West 89th Street, police said.
On Feb. 28, she sat on a bench next to a 62-year-old woman near Riverside Drive and West 84th Street, said she had a knife and demanded cash, police said. The suspect fled when the victim said she didn't have any money and began screaming, police added.
She is described as in her early 20s, standing approximately 5-foot-4, weighing 165 pounds, wearing high heels and a black waist-length jacket, police said.
