Man Slashed in Head by Stranger in Midtown, Police Say

MIDTOWN — A man was slashed in the back of the head by a stranger in Midtown Thursday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The 30-year-old man was standing at East 55th Street and Madison Avenue at about 4:47 p.m. on Dec. 10 when the other man attacked him, police said.

The victim was treated at Roosevelt Hospital and released.

The alleged attacker appears to have been wearing a purple jacket and carrying a backpack.  

It was not immediately clear what motivated the slashing.
