QUEENS — A man burned 40 religious Hindu flags placed in front of a Woodhaven home last week in what police said they are investigating as a hate crime.
The NYPD released images of the suspect lighting flags on fire in the front yard of a home near 89th Avenue and 80th Street, shortly after 1 a.m. early Thanksgiving morning.
The man then fled southbound on 80th Street, police said.
There were no injuries, according to the NYPD.
Police described the suspect as wearing a three-quarter-length jacket, baseball cap and pulling a medium size travel bag.
