'Star Wars' Tickets Go On Sale Monday

By Nicole Levy | October 19, 2015 7:14am

The Force is stirring — if not quite awakening — today with tickets for the highly anticipated new "Star Wars" film going on sale Monday evening.

You'll be able to buy tickets for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" everywhere tickets are sold after a new trailer for the movie debuts on ESPN, according to a statement from Walt Disney Studios. The sneak peek will air during the halftime of an NFL game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles, which kicks off at 8:30 p.m.

The first trailer for the highly anticipated film premiered at two Manhattan theaters last November

If you haven't gawked at it already, check out the official theatrical poster released Sunday morning on StarWars.com.

When tickets for the movie go on sale Monday, you'll also be able to buy tickets for a marathon screening of George Lucas' beloved film saga starting Dec. 17 and capped with the premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in 3D. For fans with the stamina of a Jedi knight, here's a list of the New York City theaters that will be playing all seven movies in a row:

► UA Sheepshead Bay 14, 907 Shore Pkwy, Sheepshead Bay

College Point 12, 2855 Ulmer St, Flushing

► AMC Empire 25, 234 W 42nd St, Times Square

► Regal Union Square 14, 850 Broadway, Union Square

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters Dec. 18.

As you decide where you'll buy tickets, factor in the freebies each vendor is offering. On "'Star Wars' Saturdays" at Regal Cinemas, the first 500 viewers to watch the film in IMAX will receive a collectible ticket; on "'Star Wars' Sundays" at AMC theaters, guests seeing the movie in 3D will get a "Star Wars"-themed print from artist Dan Mumford; and on Fandango, the names of ticket buyers will be entered into a lottery to win a trip to the film's world premiere.
