BROOKLYN — A driver was fatally shot at a red light in Fort Greene Sunday night, police said.

Eric Mckinney, 31, was stopped at Ashland Place and Dekalb Avenue about 10:30 p.m., when another man walked up to his driver's side window and opened fire, an NYPD spokesman said.

The driver, who was hit in the arm and torso, drove away on Ashland against traffic, police said.

He hit a fence, tried to back up, but hit another fence before coming to a stop, police said.

He was pronounced dead at Brooklyn Hospital, police said.

The suspect, who was wearing dark clothing, fled the scene and was not immediately arrested, NYPD officials said.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting, police said.
