LOWER EAST SIDE — Oktoberfest events kick off this weekend in many parts of the city, but Lower East Siders don’t have to travel far to take part in the seasonal food and drink celebrations.

Neighborhood breweries and craft beer bars joining in on the Oktoberfest fun include Paulaner Brewery, which will begin serving its Oktoberfest beer Saturday with an accompanying menu featuring Bavarian foods made with local ingredients. The seasonal brew and menu will be available until Oct. 17.

Next week, after participating in Brooklyn’s Blocktoberfest this weekend, Randolph Beer will hold its own autumnal event, with a pretzel and beer special. Alphabet City Brewing Company will also start tapping into its Oktoberfest kegs and feature a complimentary food starting Sept. 24.
