FLUSHING — Police arrested the Queens man suspected of killing a woman and leaving her body in the trunk of a car parked in Flushing last week.

Luis Zambrano, 30, was arrested on Friday at 2 p.m. in Daleville, Va., for the murder of Angie Escobar, 28, who was found dead on Sept. 10, police said.

Officers responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle parked near the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Murray Street and noticed a foul odor coming from the trunk, police said.

When they opened the trunk, they found Escobar with stab wounds to her torso, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Escobar was last seen on Sept. 4 in her Queens Village home and was reported missing on Sept. 8, police said.

Zambrano lives near where the body was found and was last seen driving the car, police said.

He's been arrested 22 previous times since 2001 for various violent and non-violent crimes, police said. His last arrest was on March 16 for burglary.

Zambrano has not be charged as of Friday night, police said.
