FLUSHING — A woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside the trunk of a car parked in Queens on Thursday night, police said.

Police received calls of a suspicious car parked near the intersections of 22nd Avenue and Murray Street in Flushing at about 10:36 p.m. Officers noticed a foul odor coming from the trunk when they arrived, according to the NYPD.

When they opened the trunk, they found an unconscious woman with stab wounds to her torso, police said. She hadn't been identified as of Friday morning.

EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead.

Police were looking for Luis Zambrano, 30, who lives near where the body was found and was last seen driving the car, according to the NYPD.

He's described as 5-foot-7 and 200 pounds, with a bald head, police said.

Zambrano has been arrested 22 times since 2001 for various violent and non-violent crimes, a spokesman for the NYPD said. His last arrest was on March 16 for burglary.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
