Gilt Employee Illegally Shipped $119K in Designer Bags To Her House: NYPD

NAVY YARD — A Gilt employee stole $119,000 worth of designer handbags from her employer, police said.

The haul included Gucci, Balenciaga, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent leather handbags, all stolen over the course of three weeks this winter, according to the NYPD.

The worker shipped the merchandise from the company's warehouse at 63 Flushing Ave. in the Navy Yard to her home address, according to authorities.

No arrests have been made in the incident, police said. The company reported the theft Aug. 19.

Gilt did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
