ROCKAWAY BEACH — Local skaters will now be able to get some air on a mini-bowl, but they need your help to make sure it can withstand the thrashing and brackish ocean air.

The Beach 91st. Street skate park was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy and has been temporarily rebuilt with help from St. James Clothing.

The park recently received an $18,000 mini-bowl donated by Converse and Noah Clothing, but now it needs $7,000 to help it to stand up to the location's "seaside climate," according to its GoFundMe page.

"We need it to withstand Mother Nature — and to do that, we your help!," organizers wrote.

The $7,000 fundraiser will pay for 15 sheets of Skatelite — a "super durable paper-composite material" meant to handle grinds, boardslides and ollies — as well as 26 sheets of marine-grade plywood for the decks and enclosures, the page says.

Any leftover money will go towards the Andy Kessler Foundation, in memory of the legendary New York City skateboarder who died in 2009 on Long Island.
