Man Arrested for Attempted Murder in Inwood Triple-Shooting, Police Say

INWOOD — A man was arrested for attempted murder over the weekend after opening fire on a group that attacked him on a busy stretch of 207th Street, police said.

The incident was sparked when two ex-cons got into an argument with the shooter, Kyle Sone, 22, and then assaulted him shortly before 9:20 p.m. near 10th Avenue on Saturday, police said.

Minutes later, Sone allegedly shot the attackers and a third man in front of 506 W. 207th St., about a block from where a man was shot and killed on May 10 during a fight outside of Post Avenue nighclub Tette. 

Carlos Done, 24, was shot twice in the upper left arm and once in the right forearm, police said. Anthony Polanco, 27, was shot in the left side of his torso, police said. A unidentified 23-year-old man was also shot in left leg, police said.

Sone then fled the scene. 

All the shooting victims survived the incident, with one taken to St. Barnabas hospital in serious condition.

It was unclear what the men were arguing about before the incident.

Officers recovered a .22 caliber gun after arrested Sone on Saturday, police said.

He was charged with attempted murder and is currently being held on $25,000 bail, records show.

Information regarding Sone's lawyer was not immediately available.

Polanco and Done were arrested and charged with gang assault the next day, records show.

A lawyer for Done, who is being held on $15,000 bail, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Polanco was charged with gang assault in the second degree and released on bail, according to police and city records. His lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The 23-year-old shooting victim was not charged, police said.

Both Done and Polanco have served time in state prison.

Done served four years for assault and coercion, while Polanco served six months for criminal possession of a weapon, state records show.

They are are due back in court on May 28.

Sone’s next court date is May 29.
