QUEENS — Trains along the N and Q lines were suspended between Queens and Manhattan for more than an hour Tuesday morning because of FDNY activity at the Lexington Avenue-59th Street station, officials said.

The FDNY was called to the station at about 7:41 a.m. after someone reported smelling smoke, a spokesman said.

The MTA suspended train service between Ditmars and the 57th Street-Seventh Avenue station from about 8 a.m. to about 9:20 a.m., when regular service resumed with delays, an MTA spokesman said.

Commuters were reporting delays and crowded platforms in Brooklyn as well.
