QUEENS — Service on the 7 train was briefly suspended in both directions between Queensboro Plaza and Flushing-Main Street because of “switch problems,” at 74th Street in Jackson Heights, according to the MTA.

It was not immediately clear what caused the problem a little after 11:20 a.m. or when service might be restored, an MTA spokesman said.

The agency could not say if the problem was weather-related, but service was restored wtih delays about a half-hour later.

The suspension was at least the second time in recent days that service along a significant portion of the line was stopped.

Earlier this month, service was suspended along the entire line for hours because of ice buildup on the third rail.
