UPPER EAST SIDE — Whole Foods is opening its first outpost on the Upper East Side next month with free samples and giveaways on opening day, the chain announced on Friday.
The grocery chain will launch the two-story store at 1551 Third Ave. at East 87th Street on Feb. 18, according to a Whole Foods spokeswoman.
The 39,000-square-foot location will open with the company’s traditional bread breaking ceremony, followed by giveaways and demonstrations from local vendors, the company said in a written statement.
The final store hours haven't been finalized yet, but the grand openings typically begin at 8:30 a.m., according to Whole Foods spokeswoman Beverly Basiga.
