JACKSON HEIGHTS — The neighborhood's orchestra will start its third season in December with a free community show.

The Jackson Heights Orchestra's first show of the season will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church at 81-10 35th Ave, according to organizers.

Called "Hope and Dreams," the concert will feature works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and more.

There will also be a performance by guest soloist Ulises Solano, a tenor who has performed all over the world, and made his debut at Lincoln Center in 2011.

Admission is free but there is a suggested donation of $10, and $5 for senior citizens and students.

The Jackson Heights Orchestra was founded in 2012 by retired assistant principal and violinist Patricia Glunt, who lives in the neighborhood.
