CENTRAL PARK - U2 front man Bono injured his arm while cycling in Central Park on Sunday and will undergo surgery.

The Irish super group had to cancel a weeklong residency as the band for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," beginning Monday evening, due to the accident.

"It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we're one man down," according to a statement on the band's website.

"Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back!" according to the post from U2 band members The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr.

"Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding."

This isn't the U2 frontman's first brush with injury in the past few days. Just last week, the rear cargo door of his private jet flew open as he and his entourage flew from Ireland to Germany, according to reports.
