CROWN HEIGHTS — Two men have been arrested after turning themselves in to police for their involvement in a vicious mugging in Crown Heights that seriously injured a 21-year-old woman, her family said Thursday  and a third man is wanted for questioning in regards to the assault, police said.

Kiah Morain, 24, of Crown Heights, and Hassan Dees, also 24 of The Bronx, each face robbery and assault charges for punching, dragging and robbing Gwendolyn Reyes during an Oct. 2 mugging on Franklin Avenue, police said.

Both Morain and Dees turned themselves into police at the 77th Precinct Thursday, according to a community advocate, Reyes and her family, who spoke outside the precinct following the arrests.

“I was astounded because … I thought they were never going to say anything. I thought they were going to be out hiding," Reyes said of her attackers. "So, for them to feel pressure [to come forward]  I loved it.”

A third man, Sanjae Douglas, 25, is wanted for questioning in regards to the incident, police said. The department couldn’t say what relationship Douglas has to Morain or Dees, saying only that he is a “person of interest.”

Reyes and her family are confident Douglas will be found, they said, especially given the photos and video released of the incident. Reyes' mother, Melissa Feaster, specifically praised the owner of the bodega next to where the attack happened, who she said is responsible for surveillance video released by police this week that shows Reyes being knocked down and dragged by the three suspects.

“Without that tape, we had no identification. So, I really want to thank him," Feaster said, close to tears.

Reyes suffered a fractured nose, cuts on her eye and face and bruising after the mugging, she told DNAinfo Wednesday.
