CROWN HEIGHTS — A 7,500-square-foot CrossFit gym is headed to Dean Street this December, offering everything from a camera-fitted treadmill to yoga for CrossFitters.

Crow Hill CrossFit, a fitness training center that opened on Park Place between Rogers and Nostrand avenues in January 2013 and now has 300 members, is planning to move to 1010 Dean St. between Franklin and Classon avenues, according to owner, Dan McCarthy.

The new gym, located in a one-story former warehouse, will provide room for a new AstroTurf sprinting track, a camera-fitted treadmill for “running gait analysis” and room for more classes and more students in each one, McCarthy said.

“The biggest thing for us will be the ability to run multiple classes at the same time, and to not have to cap class sizes (at least for the time being)” McCarthy wrote in an email.

The new CrossFit branch is one of several changes coming to the Dean Street block.

Just down the street from the soon-to-be gym, a new eight-story, 120-unit residential building is planned at 608 Franklin Ave., on the corner of Dean Street and Franklin Avenue.

The building will have a glass-filled facade of floor-to-ceiling square windows, according to renderings released this week by the project’s designer, ODA Architecture.

It will offer 24 below-market rate apartments, according to a spokeswoman for ODA, with the rest  96 units  at market-rate prices. The project is being developed by Yoel Goldman, she said.

The block will also be home to the new Brooklyn Flea location at 1000 Dean St., which has announced its grand opening will take place the weekend of Nov. 8 and 9, according to the market’s co-founder, Eric Demby.

The “Winter Flea” will occupy over 31,500 square feet spread over three spaces of the ground floor of the former warehouse building at 1000 Dean St.  a 20,000-square-foot main room for antique, furniture and clothing vendors, an “arcade-style” hallway which will feature between 10 and 15 packaged food vendors and a former loading dock for “a ‘mini-Smorg’ of sorts,” Demby said in a release about the market’s move to Crown Heights.

The Flea will be connected by passageway to Berg’n, a new beer hall renovated in conjunction with 1000 Dean St. that opened in August.
