CLAREMONT — A brazen gunman was captured on dramatic surveillance video opening fire on a Bronx street in broad daylight Monday, striking a teenage victim in the leg, police said.
The suspects got out of a dark-colored SUV just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of East 174 Street and Eastburn Avenue and approached the two male victims, according to the NYPD.
A video released by police shows the men standing on the sidewalk when one of the suspects throws a punch at one of the victims. Another suspect then pulls a gun from what looks like a bag and starts firing.
Police say one of the victims, an 18-year-old man, was shot in the leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
