NEW YORK CITY — The city's food scene welcomed a vegan to-go shop as well as "dessert speakeasy."

Cow and Clover at 291 Kent Ave. in South Williamsburg

At the center of a new restaurant in South Williamsburg is a high-heat wood-burning oven that can cook a whole piri-piri chicken in seven minutes. Cow and Clover will also be baking flatbread pizza as well as roasting fruit and vegetables that will be mixed into cocktails.

Blossom Du Jour at 165 Amsterdam Ave. on the Upper West Side

The fourth location of to-go vegan food purveyor Blossom Du Jour has opened on the Upper West Side. The new location will be similar to its other spots in Chelsea, Midtown West and near Lincoln Center, serving items such as a Philly Cheese Steak or a BLT Caesar, along with desserts and cold-pressed juices.

Spirited at 638 Bergen St. in Prospect Heights

A bar selling alcohol-laced baked goods and specialty cocktails has opened in Prospect Heights. Spirited, a "dessert speakeasy" according to owner Kimberly Wetherell, has treats like chocolate whiskey pecan pie, honey spice apple Bundt cake and Limoncello and Sorel sandwich cookies.
