LOWER MANHATTAN — The 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks will be marked by a series of solemn events in the city Thursday.

Memorials in Lower Manhattan include the annual reading of the victims' names, a gathering for survivors and prayers for peace. Here's a look at some of the events:

9/11 Memorial Ceremony Webcast

The 9/11 Memorial will offer a webcast of the annual commemoration ceremony at the World Trade Center site, including a reading of the names of the nearly 3,000 victims. The webcast will be available on the 9/11 Memorial's website beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday and will run until about noon.

Tribute in Light

Twin beams of light will shine skyward from Lower Manhattan for the annual Tribute in Light Thursday evening. The blue beams will light up at dusk and will fade away at dawn. This year, the 9/11 Memorial will open from 6 p.m. to midnight for the general public to view the lights and reflect at the plaza. To access the plaza, use entrances at Liberty and West streets, Fulton and West streets or Liberty and Greenwich streets. There is no formal program. The sun will set at 7:12 p.m. and sunrise will occur at 6:34 a.m. The lights are best seen when it is completely dark.

Bell of Hope at St. Paul's Chapel

At 8:46 a.m., the Bell of Hope at St. Paul's Chapel, at Broadway and Fulton Street, will toll to mark the first plane's collision into the World Trade Center 13 years ago. The bell was a gift from London to New York City in 2002. It will toll in four sets of five rings.

World Trade Center Survivors Gathering

The World Trade Center Survivors' Network will gather at the Survivor Tree in the Living Memorial Grove, near the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge, from 12:30 p.m to 1:30 p.m. The group will then eat lunch nearby, with the location sent to those who RSVP online.

Prayer for Peace at St. Paul's Chapel

St. Paul's Chapel, at Broadway and Fulton Street, will host a service offering prayers for peace, memoralizing those killed on 9/11, at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
