TRIBECA — Tribeca Cinemas will pay tribute to late actor and comedian Robin Williams with a screening of the 1990 film "Awakenings" next week, with proceeds going to benefit a mental health organization.

The Academy Award-nominated film will be shown at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. In the 1990 drama, Williams played Dr. Malcolm Sayer, a doctor who revives catatonic patients after discovering the benefits of a new drug. The film co-stars Robert De Niro, who helped found Tribeca Cinemas.

Williams committed suicide Monday, according to reports. His death stunned New Yorkers.

All proceeds from the tickets to the film, which cost $15, will go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
