CORONA — Run, jump and javelin toss your way to a fun weekend with the kids at this Saturday's  adventure race at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

The Get Up & Go! Family Adventure Race takes place Saturday. August 2 at near the Unisphere, and will feature a course with 12 activity stations, including a javelin throw, hurdles and a mini climbing wall.

Competitors betwen the ages of 8 to 13 will have to complete each task before moving on to the next one, and all finishers will receive t-shirts and certificates.

The winners in each category get additional awards.

The goal is to get families moving for a solid hour of fun, according to the organizers, the City Parks Foundation.

The race is free and open to up to two children between the ages of 8 and 13 per adult, organizers said.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and begins at 10 a.m. for kids 8 to 10, and 11 a.m. for kids 11 to 13.
