SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — An outdoor dance party is on its way to the Seaport — but you won't be able to hear it.

Sound Off, a company that organizes “silent discos” across the country, is bringing its wireless, noise-canceling headsets, along with several DJs, to Fulton Street for a free party that lets revelers dance to the beat of their own choosing.

The July 19 Silent Seaport event, on Fulton between Front and Water streets, will feature six DJs, including DJ Yessir and DJ Kharisma, performing three at a time. Participants have the choice of tuning into whichever live stream of music they want pumped into their headphones and can adjust the volume levels.

The party, which runs from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., will be capped at 600 people, organizers said. Dancers will have to hand in their ID in exchange for a pair of headsets, to ensure the headphones will be returned.

Beer garden Ambrose Hall, which sits on Fulton Street, will be selling drinks and snacks throughout the party.

The free event is sponsored by See/Change, which is Seaport developer Howard Hughes Corporation's effort to create programming and events to attract visitors to the neighborhood following Hurricane Sandy.
