BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Hundreds of supporters crammed into a Bed-Stuy restaurant on Thursday to celebrate the relocation of the American Black Film Festival to New York from Miami.

For its 18th year supporting black filmmakers, the event will feature screenings of "Think Like a Man Too," the season two premier of Adult Swim's "Black Dynamite" and "A Genius Leaves the Hood: The Unauthorized Story of Jay-Z."

The festival also added a documentary honoring the award-winning actress and activist Ruby Dee, who died in her New Rochelle home Wednesday night.

On Thursday, New Yorkers from across the city flocked to Bedford Hall, at 1177 Bedford Ave., for a red carpet event featuring live music, food and drinks to honor the festival's move to New York after almost two decades in Miami and Los Angeles.

As part of the celebration, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams awarded citations to festival founder Jeff Friday and celebrity ambassador Tonya Lewis Lee, a producer, writer, editor and film executive, for contributions to the borough, the arts and the African-American community.

The American Black Film Festival starts June 19. Click here for tickets and schedule.
