MANHATTAN — A brush fire broke out in Inwood Hill Park Monday afternoon, the FDNY said.

The fire started just after 5 p.m. near West 218th Street in Inwood Hill Park, fire officials said.

Twelve units with 60 firefighters responded to the blaze, the FDNY said. Fire trucks left the scene around 6:45 p.m. with most of the smoke gone.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
