NEW YORK CITY — Police arrested an alleged gang member in connection to Saturday’s Marcy Houses shooting that left one teenager dead and three others injured, authorities said.

Brandon Reese, 20, of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was charged with murdering 18-year-old Mario Lopez and shooting three boys, ages 13, 14 and 15.

The shooting appeared to be gang related, as all four victims and the shooter had ties to local gangs, police said.

Reese was a member of the Tompkins Get Money Crew, while Lopez and two of the victims were with the Young Slackers, police said. The fourth victim had ties to the Marcy Gangsters, police said.

The shooting happened at 6:30 p.m. Saturday after a basketball tournament at the Marcy Houses, 472 Marcy Ave., the NYPD said. Lopez and the three teenagers were standing outside the housing complex when Reese allegedly opened fire on the four teenagers, spraying them with bullets, police said.

Lopez was shot in the stomach, the 13-year-old was shot in the neck and the other two boys were shot in the legs, police said.

The 13-year-old was listed in critical condition on Tuesday, while the other two were in stable condition, police said.

Reese was charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm. He was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Tuesday morning and will next appear in court July 12.
