BEDFORD STUYVESANT — Gunfire erupted outside the Marcy Houses on Saturday evening, killing one teenager and leaving three suffering from non-fatal wounds, police said.

The shootings took place just across the street from a basketball tournament that drew hundreds outside, reports said, though it was unclear if the event had any connection to the shootings.

Mario Lopez, 18, who had come from his home in the Bushwick Houses for the event, the NY Daily News reported, was standing outside the housing complex shortly after 6:30 p.m., when he was shot in the stomach, police said.

Responding officers found three other victims of the spray of bullets outside 472 Marcy Ave., including a 13-year-old with a critical gunshot wound in his neck, and two boys, 14 and 15, both shot in the legs, police said.

Lopez and the 13-year-old were rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where Lopez was pronounced dead. The younger teen was still in critical condition Sunday.

Police had not yet arrested a gunman in the shootings, and an investigation was ongoing.

Meanwhile, Lopez's relatives told the News that the young man had a bright future, but was often pestered by gangs.

"(Lopez) was a good kid," his older brother Manuel Saenz, told the paper. "He liked to play sports, basketball. It’s a sad day. He was a bright kid."
